BCR On Demand - Field Reports: Alexa Albanese's Imposter Syndrome

Backstage at Laugh Boston, Albanese talks her upbeat take on distressing current events

It is perhaps fitting that, while a nor-easter was drenching the Seaport on May 22, 2005, Alexa Albanese was inside Laugh Boston making people laugh. She was presenting an early edition of Imposter Syndrome, a show she debuted at the Rockwell in December, mixing desk pieces on current events with biographical stand-up and a bit of character work, just to keep the audience guessing.

As a seld-described theater kid and a journalist student at the Harvard Extension School, Imposter Syndrome is a way for Albanese to combine her passions. “I am only a journalist because I love comedy,” she says.

Look for a two-night residency of the show in October at the Boston Center for the Arts. Keep up with the dates at Albanese's official website.

Field Reports broadcast on Boston Comedy Radio daily at 5AM and every day but Saturday at 5PM.
