In honor of his appearance on the Peacock show Traitors, I thought I would post this Q&A with Ron Funches, a conversation we had in 2017 when he was starting his first official theater tour. Despite how his Traitors castmates might view him, Funches is an irresistible personality. In this interview, he mentions his tone, the cadence and quality of his voice that once made him a mark for bullies in Chicago where he grew up, and eventually became the hallmark of his stand-up comedy, and got him some major voiceover work in animated films like Trolls. That, along with his ebullient presence, made him a strong character actor and reality show guest. Funches appeared on variations of Chopped and Cupcake Wars and was part of the ensemble cast of the superhero sitcom Powerless.
